Skin of the Earth (SkOTE LLC) is a land-based design practice organized by Anik [on-ik] Sparrman (b. 1991).
Anik collaborates with humans (designers, woodworkers, musicians, nurseries, ecologists), plants, soil, stone, fungus, maps, ghosts, water, and a host of other critters. They are dedicated to practices rooted in loving relations between all varieties of Earthly kin.
They have arrived at this work by following creeks to rivers, gardening with their Mom, studying and practicing landscape architecture, and caring for a small hollow in the Ragged Mountains of Virginia.
